DEAKIN SCHOOL OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
EE GENE LEE (ZACHARY)
The project brief for our client ‘Deakin’s School of Information Technology’ is to create event branding for their 2017 graduates to present their final projects for mobile, web and software applications that they have created over the last 6 months, to peers and industry professionals. We were asked to create a brand that represented what they had been exploring and an icon that could possibly be used for future events. Branding and logo as well as promotion, banners, posters, signage and other minor documents were asked to be created as a way to make this event appeal to Deakin alumni, business’ and future clients.
The design we came up with was bold, solid and most importantly represented the name that was chosen for this event, Circuit 17’. The logo colours are IT based blue and greys using multiple tones and textures with in the logo itself and the background. For elements such as the posters and banners we added a bright orange which gave another level to the design. The posters were created to be individualised for each team and the app or software they had created. Banners stand out with the bright selection of colours and draw people in while the logo shape and style link to the IT industry.
The outcome of our design is a brand that will be used for this event and possibly future events. Circuit 17 has been created by students and their work so us as students needed to represent that to the public. Our final outcome consists of a new logo, 25 individual posters, banners, a website consisting of all information about the event and students and an animation that can be displayed on the night.
